Clinical Research Group

Research that matters.
On top of regular standard of care, Cardiology Physicians of Fairfield County offers a service through our clinical research program where we take part in new and exciting developments in cardiac medicine.
Our physicians participate in a variety of clinical trials aimed at improving and advancing treatment options for our patients.
All clinical trials are approved by the FDA and are directly supervised by our physicians to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
About Us
We are part of a private cardiology practice with 21 doctors and seven offices with privileges at three hospitals in Fairfield County. In 2008 we developed a clinical research program within our practice to explore novel medications and devices. Our program has grown rapidly and has expanded into 35 different clinical research studies with over 1600 of our patients enrolled.
Our cardiologists oversee the preliminary results of the research studies in conjunction with our team of clinical research coordinators. It is the coordinators main responsibility to conduct the day to day activities of the research studies while the physicians monitor the overall conduct of the study and patient safety.
Our studies typically involve new cardiovascular medications or devices that are in their final stage of FDA approval. In addition we conduct post marketing research to ensure continuing safety and efficacy of medications and devices already approved by the FDA.
Patients who participate in clinical research studies provide a part of the data that is necessary to increase the wealth of knowledge of cardiovascular medications and devices.
